VISIT OUR HISTORIC BUILDING
Patrick Cudahy, best known as the founder of Cudahy Brothers Packing Company (later known as Patrick Cudahy Meats), was one of Milwaukee’s wealthiest and most prominent citizens of his day. He purchased 33 acres of farm land in the then unincorporated hamlet of Elm Grove and began the project of creating a peaceful seasonal retreat for his family. He hired Herman Staeps as a fulltime groundskeeper to manage the rural property’s plants, trees and wildlife. Mr. Cudahy later sold the property to Mr. Staeps, who developed it into a nursery/greenhouse business. In 1906, the wooden home was severely damaged by fire. The rebuilt home was the first to be built in Elm Grove with indoor plumbing and remained in the Staeps family for three generations. The Moran Construction Company purchased the property in 1960 and subsequently sold it to Al Krueger in 1976. Mr. Krueger turned the house into the headquarters for his technology business. Throughout the years, the property has undergone interior renovations and in 1983 a warehouse was added to meet the needs of the growing company. Today the property, originally built as the Cudahy Summer Home, still houses Krueger Communications headquarters, run by Allen Krueger Jr. Krueger Communications is a cutting edge communications company providing services to a wide variety of customers.
Krueger Communications welcomes guests to schedule a visit. The Krueger team is proud to share a tour of our historic building along with a demonstration of the state of the art technology solutions we can integrate into modern business.
